Health Clinics & Ramadan Prayers

1. Hari Raya Decorations

STL has been adorned with beautiful decorations since early March 2025 as we approach Hari Raya Aidilfitri which falls on 31 March 2025 in Singapore. From vibrant lights to intricate designs, our dormitory is transformed into a welcoming space that reflects the essences of forgiveness, love and unity shared by the Muslims and everyone in STL. We invite all residents to take a moment to appreciate the decorations and join in the celebration.

2. Singtel Road Show

We are excited to partner with Singtel fora roadshow on 9 March 2025. This event showcases the latest mobile telecom packages and new phone models available. It’s a great opportunity for our residents to explore the best deals and stay connected

with their loved ones.

3. SATA mobile Clinic

As part of STL’s continuous effort to improve the welfare of our residents, STL has collaborated with SATA to provide monthly physiotherapy services. These services aim to enhance the well-being of our foreign workers by offering free check-ups for

existing or past injuries related to physiotherapy. This initiative ensures that our residents receive the necessary medical attention to maintain their health and well-being.

4. Tarawih prayers during Ramadan

Tarawih praying sessions were conducted during the holy month of Ramadan. These prayers provided an opportunity for

spiritual reflection, community bonding, and worship. The sessions were led by MUIS registered Imams and conducted

daily in all 5 (five) clusters throughout this period. Participants in each cluster range to 150pax to 350pax daily. STL is committed to promoting racial and religious harmony within our dormitory. By providing a dedicated space for Tarawih prayers, we aim to support our Muslim residents in their religious practices while fostering an inclusive environment for all. We encourage everyone to participate and strengthen our

community bonds through such practices.

5. Hari Raya Puasa celebration with Migrant Workers’ Centre (MWC)

On 29 March 2025, Migrant Workers Centre (MWC) and STL collaborated to distribute free dinners as part of the month of Ramadan and Hari Raya celebrations. This outreach event provided an opportunity for STL and MWC to mingle with residents and discuss issues related to their stay and work in

Singapore, helping us formulate improvement plans in support of and in recognition of their contributions to the nation

Government Engagements, Faith Gatherings, and Public Safety Efforts

1. MOM- ACE Visit

On 10 April 2025, STL had the pleasure of hosting a visit from MOM ACE. The primary objective of this visit was to share STL’s comprehensive emergency response plan with MOM, focusing on preparedness for potential riots and fires. The session was marked by a healthy exchange of ideas, fostering collaboration and mutual understanding between STL and MOM ACE. Both teams engaged in insightful discussions, exploring various strategies and best practices to enhance emergency response capabilities.

The visit not only strengthened the partnership between STL and MOM ACE but also underscored the importance of proactive planning and effective communication in ensuring safety and security for our residence.

2. Singapore Police Force (SPF) and Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) visits at STLodge

On 9 April 2025, officers from the Singapore Police Force (SPF), Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB), and Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) conducted a joint operation. The objective of the operation was to apprehend residents who may have violated the law through the use of duty-unpaid

tobacco, alcohol, or drug abuse. STL’s management extends its gratitude to SPF, CNB, and ICA for their continued efforts in

maintaining a safe and secure environment for all foreign workers. These workers make significant sacrifices to support their families through their hard work, and ensuring their safety and well-being remains a top priority.

3. ACE Engagement to STL residents

On 27 April 2025, STL collaborated with MOM-ACE to visit our residence during their rest day. These impromptu interactions provided a relaxed atmosphere where residents felt comfortable sharing their experiences, problems, and suggestions regarding their stay at our dormitory. The visit was a valuable opportunity for both STL and MOM ACE to gain insights directly from the residents, fostering a sense of community and mutual understanding. This initiative highlights STL’s commitment to continuously improving the living conditions and overall well-being of our residents.

We appreciate the willingness of MOM-ACE to engage with our community and look forward to

more such collaborative efforts in the future.

4. Good Friday Prayer and Easter Sunday Celebration

Our STL management organized Friday prayer sessions for Muslim residents, highlighting the multiracial and religious harmony within our foreign worker community.

18 April 2025 is Good Friday, a

Christian public holiday, is a time

for rest and reflection.

5. Dengue Alert: Stay Vigilant at STLodge

The National Environment Agency (NEA) has recently intensified checks at STL, with a particular focus on common areas. This highlights the continued risk Dengue

poses to our community.

What You Can Do:

We urge all staff and residents to remain vigilant and take the following preventive actions seriously.

• Eliminate stagnant water in and around your living and working areas.

• Clear and cover containers that can collect rainwater.

• Keep common areas clean and free of litter.

• Apply mosquito repellent and wear long-sleeve clothing when possible.

Dengue-free. Your cooperation is vital in

protecting everyone’s health.

6. Pest Control Operation

As part of our ongoing efforts in maintaining a clean and hygienic environment for all residents, a full extermination exercise was recently carried out to address cockroach infestation in the Kitchen Tower Lockers across all clusters.

Residents are reminded to keep lockers clean, dispose of food waste properly, and report any pest sightings to management.

Professional pest control teams were engaged to treat affected areas and implemented preventive measures.

Regular fogging is also carried out to control mosquito breeding and reduce the risk of mosquito-borne diseases.

STL Residents Celebrate with Food, Fun, and Learning

1. Bread Distribution for Labor Day

To celebrate Labor Day, Sungei Tengah Lodge (STL) organized a special Bread Distribution drive for our Residents. Freshly baked loaves were handed out to residents in all 5 Clusters, spreading joy and warmth throughout the community. This meaningful initiative brought smiles to many and reinforced our commitment to caring for our residents. A big thank you to our Staff and Colleagues who made this possible.

2. A Wild Day Out: STL Residents Visit Rainforest Wild Asia

In celebration of Labor Day, our STLodge residents

embarked on an exciting outing to Rainforest Wild

Asia at Mandai, organized in collaboration with The

Salvation Army. Surrounded by lush greenery and exotic wildlife, residents enjoyed a funfilled day of discovery,

bonding, and relaxation. The immersive environment

provided the perfect backdrop for memorable

moments and new friendships.

3. A Day of Fun at Sentosa for STL residents

On 1st May 2025, our STLodge residents enjoyed a vibrant May Day outing at Sentosa, packed with beach games, scenic views, and moments of laughter and relaxation. It was a wonderful day of bonding and community spirit.

5. Singtel Road Show

On 11 May 2025, STL partnered with Singtel to host a road show for the residents. Residents got hands-on with new tech, exclusive promotions and helpful advice from Singtel Staff. Free chicken nuggets were given out at the booth, adding a delicious touch to the event!

6. Salvation Army and NCS Goodie Bag Distribution

STL is grateful to The Salvation Army (TSA) and National Computer System (NCS) for their generous contribution of 500 goodie bags to our foreign residents. Each bag was packed with groceries, rice, noodles, and daily essentials—offering meaningful support in easing day-to-day living expenses.

The event featured fun games and interactive activities, creating a joyful and engaging experience for all participants.

We appreciate TSA and NCS for their kindness and commitment to community care.

7. NEA Health Talk

On 18 May 2025, the National Environment Agency (NEA)

conducted an engaging and informative session at Socializing

Area 3 (SA3) of Sungei Tengah Lodge. The talk focused on key

topics including personal hygiene, health awareness, and effective strategies for rodent and pest control.

This initiative aimed to encourage good habits and support a cleaner, healthier living environment for all residents. We thank NEA for their ongoing commitment to community education and public health.

8. Free Lunch for STL Residents

On the same day, a separate free lunch distribution was held by the Indian Restaurant Association of Singapore and

ST FoodCourt. As part of the SG60 celebrations, they generously provided 5,000 sets of free meals to residents.

This meaningful gesture commemorated Singapore’s 60th year of independence since 1965, bringing the community

together in celebration, gratitude and pride.

Resident Weekend Activities, PUB Visit, Anti-Scam Talk by SPF, and Our Ongoing Fight Against Drugs

1. Weekend Activities of STLodge Residents

At Sungei Tengah Lodge, we believe in providing a holistic living experience for our residents. We understand the importance of recreation and physical activity in maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. That’s why we have invested in top-notch facilities to ensure our residents can enjoy their weekends to the fullest.

Our dormitory boasts excellent sports and recreational facilities, including:

• Soccer Field, Cricket Field

• Basketball Court

• Sepak Takraw Court

• Gymnasium

• Socialising Area

• Foot Court & Beer Garden

We are committed to fostering a sense of community and well being among our residents.

Our sports and recreational facilities are just one of the many ways we strive to create a home away from home. We

invite all our residents to take advantage of these amenities and enjoy a vibrant and active lifestyle

2. PUB staff visit to STLodge

On 27 Feb 2025, STL hosted a visit from Ms. Angela Koh,

Director of Water Supply Network at PUB. The visit provided

an excellent opportunity to showcase STL Water Management and Conservation practices.

Water-Saving Measures at STL:

• Newly installed en-suite toilets in each room with the latest water-saving fixtures.

• SMART Utilities System for real-time monitoring of water, electrical usage.

• Installation of self-closing taps and fitted with Flow Aerators at all Sanitary outlets.

• Free laundry services to encourage efficient water use.

• Educational notices in high-traffic areas to promote water saving habits.

• Daily monitoring of water usage to track and manage

consumption.

Ms. Koh and her team were impressed with these innovative approaches and commended STL’s effort in contributing to Singapore’s water sustainability goals. We wish to thank PUB for their visit and extend our gratitude to our residents for their cooperation in working with STL Management.

3. SPF anti-crime and anti-scam Prevention Talk

On 28 Feb 2025, STL hosted an anti-crime and anti-scam talk in collaboration with the Singapore Police Force (SPF).

The event aimed to educate our residents about various scams and crimes, and how to protect themselves.

Key Points Covered:

• Scam Awareness: Latest scam trends and how to avoid them.

• Crime Prevention: Tips to secure valuables and stay vigilant.

• Interactive Q&A: Residents asked questions and shared experiences.

• Support Resources: Information on the ScamShield app and Anti-Scam Helpline.

The talk was well-received, and residents appreciated learning directly from law enforcement experts. Management of STL would like to thank the SPF for their support and our residents for their participation. Together, we can create a safe community at Sungei Tengah Lodge.

4. STLodge Fight Against Drugs

STLodge is committed to ensuring a Safe and Healthy Environment for all residents.

Why Stay Away from Drugs?

• Health Risks: Drugs can cause serious health issues, including addition and mental health problems.

• Legal Consequences: Drug use is illegal in Singapore and

can lead to imprisonment and eviction.

• Community Impact: Drug use will also affect your friends, family and love ones. Anti-Drug Measures at STL:

• Strict Policies: STL adopts ZERO Tolerance Policy. All Offenders will be Evicted.

• Government Collaboration: Working with SPF, CNB and

MOM on comprehensive Drug Prevention.

• Posters: Drug Prevention Posters displayed at high traffic areas.

• Support Services: Residents may approach any Cluster

Officer for counselling and support.

We urge all residents to make responsible choices and contribute to a drug-free environment at STL. Together, we can create a safe and supportive community for everyone.

Welcome the New Year, Giving of Mandarin oranges during CNY, SATA mobile rehabilitation clinic, Football Tournament

1. Lion Dance to Welcome the New Year

As we welcome the Year of the Snake, we are thrilled to share the festive spirit with all our residents. Chinese New Year is a time of renewal, celebration and togetherness. To mark this joyous occasion, we have organized a Lion Dance performance to share the festive spirit with everyone. We extend our warmest wishes to all our tenants and residents for a prosperous and fulfilling new year.

2. Giving of Mandarin Oranges during Chinese New Year Celebration

STL provided free mandarin oranges to all residents as part

of our continuous effort to spread the joy and celebrations

of Chinese New Year, and to promote racial and religious

harmony among all nationalities. We also wish to extend our

gratitude to the Ministry of Manpower (MOM) for contributing some of the oranges in this initiative.

3. SATA Mobile Rehabilitation Clinic

On 13 Jan 2025, STL and SATA started a pilot scheme offering Free Mobile Rehabilitation Services to residence. This initiative aims to educate residents about managing bodily pain and

aches. The feedback from residents had been overwhelmingly positive. As a result, STL & SATA plans to provide similar services regularly.

4. Football Tournament by the residents

Chinese New Year falls on 29 and 30 Jan 2025, which are

Wednesday and Thursday. Many companies took this opportunity to provide extra day off for their employees on

Fri & Sat.

While most Chinese are celebrating their New Year, STL

allowed our tenant, KPW Singapore Pte Ltd to organized a

football competition for their Foreign Workers.

Many of our residents also benefitted by participating as

spectators, keeping themselves occupied during the holiday

period.
